Italian rider wins ahead the Slovenian Jan Tratnik in Montefiascone

Enrico Battaglin celebrates his first win of Giro delle Regioni 2010. The 34th edition of the Italian race which is parte of UCI Nations' Cup challenge seen the Italian victory ahead the Slovenian Jan Tratnik on the hill finish in Montefiascone (Viterbo). Third was the Portoguese Domingos Gonçalves, with a gap of ten seconds. Tratnik attacks on the last KOM and Battaglin was able to reach him at 5 kms to go. Lietar (Belgium), Zielinski (Poland), Jennings (South Africa) and Desniou (Francia) was the other riders who were in the front of the race.

«I made two attacks: first of all to get the seven riders who attacked before the climb and then to get Tratnik, who was already very strong after the great performance of yesterday at G.P. Liberazione. Tomorrow everybody will try to attack and we have to be able to mantein the jerseys». Battaglin is the leader of GC and Point classifications.
