Jan Tratnik gets an astonishing solo win in 65th GP Liberazione
Jan Tratnik triumphs in the 65th Gran Premio della Liberazione. The Slovenian youngster's effort resulted in an astonishing solo victory, arriving on the finish line with 31" over the chasers group; not a common finish for the Italian race, traditionally won by sprinters.
The second spot was earned by the Australian fellow Micheal Matthews (Team Jayco Skins), with Edoardo Costanzi (Zalf Desirée Fior) third and first Italian in the classification.
The race highlight was the long solo escape by Nelson Oliverira, 2nd in U23 TT World Championships in 2009; the Portuguese managed to stay away alone for around 60 kms, but Tratnik eventually caught him, was able to open a gap and finally to resist to the other rivals' chase.
